Using Claude Code?

This lesson and video demonstrate Codex. Follow the same steps, with these substitutions:

• Type claude instead of codex.
• Create CLAUDE.md instead of AGENTS.md.
• After restarting Claude Code, type /memory to confirm that CLAUDE.md was loaded.

Use this path only if you already have Claude Code installed and paid access. The challenge’s supported setup and videos use Codex.

Today’s outcome

By the end of today, you will be able to:

• Find your project folder in VS Code
• Confirm which folder the terminal is using
• See the same files in VS Code and the terminal
• Create an AGENTS.md file
• Confirm that coding agent has loaded your project instructions

Why this matters

A coding agent changes files on your computer.

Before asking it to build anything, you should know:

• Which folder it is working in
• Which files are inside that folder
• Where new files will appear
• What standing instructions the agent has been given

This is how you stay close to the work instead of treating the agent like magic.
